Senior executive leading a strategy discussion in a modern boardroom
12-week intensive cohorts — Wales, United Kingdom

Executive Leadership Training that strips away the theory and builds real authority

Most leadership programmes hand you a binder and call it development. Axle puts you in the room with peers who will challenge every assumption you hold about how you lead — then gives you the tools to actually change.

A methodology built on discomfort, not slides

Every Axle cohort follows a four-phase arc designed to surface blind spots early, build new habits under pressure, and embed lasting behavioural change long after the programme ends. There are no passive lectures. Every session demands participation, vulnerability and rigorous self-assessment from each participant.

01

Diagnostic immersion

Weeks one and two. We conduct 360-degree stakeholder interviews, psychometric profiling and a live decision-making simulation. You receive a confidential leadership audit that highlights your three most consequential gaps — not a generic competency wheel, but a pointed, evidence-based analysis of where you lose influence.

02

Pressure lab

Weeks three through six. Small-group intensives tackle negotiation under ambiguity, cross-functional conflict resolution and strategic storytelling. Each session is recorded and reviewed with a facilitator so you can see exactly how your presence, language and timing land with peers.

03

Field application

Weeks seven through ten. You apply new frameworks to a live organisational challenge you bring from your own role. A dedicated Axle coach meets with you bi-weekly to troubleshoot execution, refine stakeholder strategy and hold you accountable to measurable progress.

04

Integration and peer board

Weeks eleven and twelve. You present outcomes to the full cohort, receive structured peer feedback, and form a long-term advisory board with fellow graduates. Alumni retain access to quarterly masterclasses and the Axle peer network for three years.

Six leadership problems we refuse to ignore

Generic training avoids these because they are messy. We lean into them because they are the exact issues that derail otherwise talented executives.

Decision paralysis at scale

When the stakes are high and data is incomplete, many senior leaders stall. We train rapid-cycle decision frameworks that preserve quality while cutting deliberation time by up to 40 percent, giving your organisation a genuine competitive edge in fast-moving markets.

Boardroom presence deficit

Technical brilliance means nothing if you cannot command a room. Through recorded simulations and direct coaching, we rebuild how you open meetings, handle pushback and close with clarity — skills that determine whether your ideas survive the boardroom or die there.

Succession blind spots

Leaders who cannot develop their replacements become bottlenecks. We teach structured talent identification, delegation architecture and coaching conversations that build bench strength without threatening your own position or authority within the organisation.

Cross-functional friction

Silos persist because leaders protect territory. Our conflict-mapping exercises reveal the hidden incentive structures driving inter-departmental friction, then equip you with negotiation techniques that create genuine alignment rather than superficial compromise.

Strategic narrative collapse

If your team cannot articulate the strategy in one sentence, you have a communication problem masquerading as an alignment problem. We work with you to craft a strategic narrative that cascades cleanly from the executive suite to the front line.

Resilience erosion

Burnout at the top cascades downward. We integrate evidence-based resilience practices — cognitive reappraisal, recovery rituals and boundary-setting protocols — that sustain high performance without the chronic stress that quietly undermines executive judgement over time.

Numbers from our last eight cohorts

We track every graduate for 18 months post-programme. These figures are drawn from anonymised, self-reported surveys and verified HR data shared with participant consent. No cherry-picked testimonials — just aggregated evidence.

Right fit, wrong fit

Diverse group of senior professionals in a modern office corridor

Axle is not for everyone and we are transparent about that. Our cohorts work best for leaders who already hold significant responsibility and are willing to be uncomfortable for twelve weeks in order to grow. If you are looking for a certificate to hang on the wall, this is not the right programme.

  • Directors, vice presidents and C-suite executives with at least five years in a senior role
  • Founders scaling beyond 50 employees who need to shift from operator to leader
  • High-potential managers being groomed for executive succession within 12 to 24 months
  • Public-sector leaders navigating complex stakeholder environments and political scrutiny
  • Leaders returning from career breaks who want to rebuild strategic confidence quickly

Straight answers to common questions

In-person sessions are held at our training facility near Reillyton, Wales. The venue is deliberately removed from city distractions — a converted farmhouse with modern meeting spaces, private coaching rooms and on-site accommodation. Two of the twelve sessions are delivered remotely to accommodate travel schedules.

Tuition for the 12-week cohort is £8,750 per participant, inclusive of all materials, coaching sessions, venue use and alumni network access. We offer a two-participant organisational discount and can invoice against corporate training budgets. Payment plans are available on request.

Expect roughly six to eight hours per week: one half-day session (either in person or virtual), plus independent fieldwork and coaching calls. The programme is designed for working executives, so we schedule around board cycles and quarterly pressures wherever possible.

Yes. Standalone coaching engagements are available for leaders who need targeted support outside the cohort calendar. These are typically six-month engagements with fortnightly sessions. Reach out via the contact form and specify your interest in individual coaching.

We conduct a 30-minute intake conversation with every applicant to assess fit. We look for seniority, openness to feedback and a genuine desire to change — not just attend. We deliberately mix industries and sectors within each cohort to maximise perspective diversity and prevent groupthink.
